Guidelines for editing and uploading your work onto the AP Studio Art Website
Read the document below for information on how to SHOOT, EDIT, RESIZE, SET-UP an AP PROFILE ONLINE & DOWNLOAD images of your artwork for your college board AP portfolios.
USING A MAC & DON'T HAVE PHOTOSHOP?
You can still edit your photos without photoshop on your MAC.
1. Open your RAW images with the PREVIEW program
2. In PREVIEW use SELECT in a rectangular shape to select the area of the picture you wish to keep.
3. Go to TOOLS and crop the image to get rid of extra space around your work.
4. Go to TOOLS... then ADJUST SIZE... and change resolution to 72 Pixels/inch
5. Then change pixel dimensions depending on the following:
If you do not have a MAC you may be able to do this in Paint or other preloaded photo editing program on a PC. As always come to extra help or ask if you have any troubles following these steps.

- IF your work is “landscape orientation” (“hotdog”) change the pixels dimensions to the following:
- Recommended maximum size: 780 x 530 pixels (10.83 x 7.36 inches)
- Recommended minimum size: 480 x 480 pixels (6.67 x 6.67 inches)
- IF your work is “portrait orientation” (“hamburger”) change the pixel dimensions to the following:
- Recommended maximum size: 530 x 780 pixels (7.36 x 10.83 inches)
- Recommended minimum size: 480 x 480 pixels (6.67 x 6.67 inches)
- CHECK the sizes twice and CHECK the sizes in inches as well
