I am excited to announce that this year, our students in AP Art and Drawing & Painting are participating in The Memory Project. Through The Memory Project, a non profit organization, art students create portraits for youth around the world who've been neglected, orphaned, or disadvantaged. It allows our students to use their talents to connect with other children through their art. This year our students created portraits of children from Haiti. Many of our students felt connected to the children they were drawing and worked so hard at completing these beautiful portraits so that the child they were drawing felt special and proud of their gift. It has been such a rewarding experience to share and involve my students with and we look forward to participating again. The portraits are scheduled to be sent to Haiti in June. Pictures and/or video of their delivery will be shared as soon as we receive notice.
