Pumpkin Carving at Wheatley
The high school sculpture students explored carving and bass relief on live pumpkins. Traditional pumpkin carving removes whole pieces of the carved designs from the pumpkin and in relief carving students were able to create multiple layers of light and design elements by just carving layers of the pumpkin skin. | |
Pastel Pumpkins With 7th Grade
| Students had the opportunity to photograph pumpkins in class and use their photos as still life reference images for their Pastel Pumpkin drawings. The drawings were drawn on black paper and outlined with Elmer's glue, which when dried allowed for the lines to show in-between the chalk pastel. It was a fun explorative process. |
